Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I am a Kindergarten teacher at a Title 1 school. This is my 3rd year teaching and I love teaching in a high-need community. When the students come to school I try to make all lessons fun to help take their minds off of what is going on at home. These students know more than a 5 year old should know.

During these hard economic times, my school is unable to supply materials to the students to make learning fun. At this age everything needs to be hands-on to keep them engaged.

I am asking for materials to make math more fun! I want to be able to put away the books and use these materials to teach basic math skills to my students.

With your help, my students will learn math in a way that is more fun which in return will ease the learning process.
