My students need headphones and computer mice to assist them with being able to fully take advantage of the new Chromebooks that my classroom is receiving this year!
My students are amazing young mathematicians! I am a second year teacher with tons of passion and ideas for supporting and encouraging my students to reach their full potential in math and life.
The students begin the year learning about growth mindset and how productive struggle helps them to be successful.
They learn how to collaborate to solve problems, persevere through challenges and that mistakes are part of the journey.
Teaching is a passion for me and love learning about my students and their lives outside the classroom. I learn so much from them every day and they make me so proud. We love to laugh and have fun while we are learning math.
My Project
I applied for a grant this year to receive a classroom set of Chromebooks for my students this coming year. The district has notified me that I will be receiving this amazing technology and I am so excited to introduce more activities and applications into our math classes.
The students love engaging lessons that involve technology.
The math curriculum that we use at my school has links included for students to work with the mathematics in a different way. This is especially helpful for some students.
If we were to have the headphones and mice available for all students, we could more easily access some websites and functions of the Chromebooks. Specifically, some of the math applications are easier to navigate with mouse rather than with the track pad.
Additionally, I am hoping to start an after school math club for students interested in investigating math in the world and working on exciting projects and problems with mathematics. The headphones and mice would benefit this club in addition to the students in my math classes.
