My students walk into the classroom every day full of life and ready to learn. They are excited for the adventures in store for them. They come from a small, loving community in central Minnesota. They are constantly supported by everyone around them because everyone wants to see them succeed. Each child is different and that's what makes the classroom environment so much better.
This is a small single section school.
The children will learn and grow together for many years to come.
My Project
My class would love some new and fun games to help us practice our math skills! Much of the first grade math curriculum is based on learning number skills and learning different ways to add and subtract. Practicing math facts can be a bit dull so we love to play games to make it fun!
To help each child be successful in math, students can be working on many different skills and strategies during our math time.
During our math time, we have a short lesson and then students are either practicing their math skills by using technology, meeting with the teacher, or playing a math game. Some of the games, such as "Super Genius" and "Sequence Numbers", will help students to practice their math fluency and be able to know their math facts quickly. Some of the games, such as "I Sea 10" and "10 to the Top", help to develop a partners of ten, which is so important when we start to learn about place value. Having the option of different games allows the students to practice at a level that is best for them... all while having fun!
