Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if my students had fun doing math? We all know math can be difficult for kids, I know it was for me, so why not make it as fun as possible with games and activities that are engaging and educational for the kids.
My kids are the greatest kids ever, they just need a little more help than others.
I teach kids with Autism in a Special Day Class. I have 4 second graders and 4 fifth graders. It has been an interesting year so far! These kiddos know how to make me laugh and I am so lucky to be their teacher.
My Project
I am requesting math activities, file folder activities and math games in order to foster a love of learning and independence. Kids with Autism tend to have learning difficulties and often have trouble completing tasks independently. I am requesting these materials to foster academic growth and independence in my children.
I truly believe my kids can do amazing things if given the chance.
I know math is tough so I want them to learn it in a fun and engaging way. Teaching math skills now will develop a lifetime of potential for these kids. If I can teach them these skills, they may be able to improve their life skills, such as shopping for themselves as they grow older or deciding if they have enough money to go see a movie. My optimal goal is fostering a lifetime of independence.
