This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kindergartners come from a low socioeconomic background. Even though this is on their back, they are the most loving and hard working 5 and 6-year-olds. Being a teacher, I don’t have much to give financially, and I want my students to grow and thrive as much as they can. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges, both in and out of the classroom.
These students come from tough situations and despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best.
My Project
We love math time in our classroom! My students love having interactive math stations to keep them engaged and learning. I like to change out our math stations frequently so my students don't lose interest in them. My students absolutely love math games and puzzles, as I am having to create a lot of these games and activities on my own.
With so many standards and exciting things to make sure that we are learning, we need enough materials and station activities to keep our brains going!
Having Lakeshore magnet tiles and addition/counting puzzles would allow us to have new and exciting differentiated stations. These activities would allow us to have even more options during our free choice math stations.
