My students need bins and math manipulatives to use daily during our math workshop so everyone can have an opportunity to learn in a way that best meets their math needs!
are a diverse group of learners, who LOVE to learn. My students get excited about learning and through math workshop, I am able to engage my students through differentiation and provide different tasks for them to master skills being taught.
In my class, we work on building relationships and a classroom culture of acceptance and kindness, which allows for students to take risks, make growth, and feel proud of themselves.
We have lots of fun together, with lots of laughing AND lots of learning! I am very passionate about meeting the needs of my students and math workshop allows for me to provide those tasks!
My Project
Math workshop allows for me to differentiate instruction and to meet the needs of my students. The bins will allow for each student to have their own space for their materials that they are working on. The bins will also help organize the classroom and their centers which will help ensure a successful launch of math workshop.
One valuable way of differentiation is through dice.
We will be able to use varying numbers (values) to help support my students. In my classroom, there are varying levels of students and proficiency, but dice help students to work on the same thing, but some numbers (values) are different, which helps with classroom climate and not making any student feel like they can not be successful.
Another tool used during math workshop are dry erase pockets. Pockets allow for templates and sheets to be put inside them. This can help differentiate and use as quick assessments.
