Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
When you were in grade school, and someone asked you what your favorite subject was, what was your response? It was probably PE, art, or even lunch. When asked what your least favorite subject was, I am almost sure it was math! I want to make a change on my students' opinions on math and show them how fun and rewarding it can be. My students are creative, unique, and ready to learn! When it comes to math, my students find it easiest to learn when doing hands-on, active, and engaging projects.
Our school is located in a low income neighborhood, and many students come from unstable households.
When the students enter my classroom they will be greeted warmly, and made to feel comfortable and safe. A student friendly, positive, and engaging classroom is what I envision for my students this year.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, and the light in their eyes when they fully understand a topic is so rewarding. I plan to use a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating to ensure that each student's needs are met. My students are truly special and deserve as much as I can give.
My Project
Each of my students are unique, and at their age they come into class with enormous amounts of energy. I don't want my students to feel confined to their seat. I have included many different seating options and fidgety tools to ensure that all of my students needs are met when it comes to feeling comfortable in our classroom.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
I have also included basic needs for my students such as dry erase pockets, which my students will use daily to solve problems, and share their work easily with others in the class.
