Making Math Active & Fun

My Project

I am excited to be teaching math to some amazing 2nd graders! In order to motivate and make math relatable, I want to create some projects where students will put math to use!

Students often struggle with math because they don't see how it can be put to use.

I want to put math in action!

I have had success giving my students challenges such as solving math problems in order to unlock fun activities. I would like to amp up my gamifying of math by providing more locks to decode and open. Students will use the clues given to them in the different note card holders to solve problems to find their combination. They will then find fun buttons taking them to their activity.

I would also like to create "I did it!" buttons for students to be able to take home and brag away when completing different challenges.

I would love to be able to purchase some of the TPT resources I have found with problem based lessons as well as escape room style lessons.
