My first graders have a thirst for knowledge and want to explore the world around them. Even more, they love to share their learning with family and friends. Each day is a new opportunity for discovery of the world around them and for discovering the world inside a book.
The joy of learning cannot be contained within the walls of a classroom.
My 20 first graders love to learn outside, through books, projects, and games. We are an active classroom in a Title I school where exploration and collaboration are the norm.
My Project
This mobile storage cart will allow my students freedom and independence when choosing the math manipulative or tool that they need in order to explore the world of math. In first grade, students are learning to use many tools that will help them as they progress in math. My students are able to solve problems and communicate the strategies they used in solving them. However, the storage situation in our classroom makes it difficult, and sometime impossible, for my students to reach the very tools that they need.
By donating to this project, you are putting the math manipulatives, tools, and supplies within easy reach of my first graders.
This cart will also make it possible to store the technology they use daily in the same place as where they will use it. Imagine being able to truly focus on learning when everything that you need for math is stored in one easy and accessible place in the classroom.
