My classroom is made up of 22 wonderful students who bring diversity and culture as well their own fun loving ideas to our classroom. What I love about my "friends" is the determination and drive they have to learn and get hands-on when given an opportunity.
I love their joyful smiles when they see me every morning as I pick them up from their line, but, most of all, I love their smiles and cheerful faces when they are working on a project and their little light bulb turns on because they know they have discovered how something works or how to apply something they have been learning about.
These are just a few examples of what makes me want to continue searching for many learning opportunities to bring to my classroom. As simple as they may seem, to many of my students, this might be a game changer in their little heads.
My Project
These math manipulatives will be extremely beneficial for all students who need to get the wiggles out and learn at the same time. With our growing technology today, our little ones are missing out on exploring and discovering with manipulatives in their hands. With so many different types of learners coming into kindergarten, including visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners, I want to make sure I have a little bit of everything for helping all my little ones learn.
These materials will also be a wonderful resource for an independent station.
In kindergarten, we do so much small group work that, at times, the students need to be focused and be able to work by themselves.
