Hooray! This project is fully funded
"Often a single experience will open the young soul to music for a whole lifetime. This experience cannot be left to chance; it is the duty of the school to provide it." Zoltan Kodaly
This project will benefit students who attend a public school in Texas.
It is a title one school with 68% free or reduced lunch and a fabulous diverse student body. The instrument purchased will be used by approximately 916 students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade!
Because of our limited resources the music students at my school have a limited number of instruments. We currently have five Orff instruments. With the average class size of 40 students for a 50 minute class period, it is difficult for students to all get a turn to play more than once or twice in a class period.
By increasing the number of classroom instruments in the music room, students will have more opportunities to perform and be able to perform more diverse musical activities and therefore learn through doing.
