My students need an opportunity to work with a 3D forms of Art! Model Magic clay is a great medium for PK-3rd graders to explore 3D art with!

Picasso once said "the important thing is to create." Students deserve to create in all materials not just those affordable within a schools budget.
My students are a great group of motivated and enthusiastic PK-3rd graders.
They get excited for paint and any special materials we use in art class. I am constantly impressed with how much knowledge they retain about Da Vinci and Van Gogh and how wonderful the art projects that follow are.
Students will be able to explore with 3D forms and shapes and how putting these shapes together make recognizable images. Some important skills students will learn includes: rolling the clay into balls and coils, developing spacial skills, and recognizing that art is just not on paper! PLUS students love to get their hands dirty! Who doesn't like to get their hands into something a little messy and create something wonderful? I really want the students in my class to get a full range of experiences with art, I don't want their view of art to be limited to construction paper and crayons. My students' tactile and spacial abilities need to be developed and the sooner the better!
Students should be exposed to as many different types of art as they can!
Its hard to think that students are getting a complete education in the arts without working with clay. The school is not equipped with a kiln, but air drying clay can get the same effect!
