My middle school students are eager readers and writers in grades 6-8. This classroom holds both general education and special education classes throughout the school day. From reading engaging mentor texts and independent reading books to writing memoirs and research reports, these 6th, 7th, & 8th graders dabble in it all! All of the students that enter my classroom are unique, and it is extremely important that they have a variety of books to choose from in the classroom. That's where new books come in!
My Project
With these book options, students will be able to expand their reading choices while continuing to build their reading fluency, stamina, and comprehension. These books will be used as read-aloud texts, mentor texts during units, within middle school Book Clubs, and as independent book options. When students have book options at their fingertips, they are more inclined to pick-up books that may be outside of their comfort zone. This will enable them to grow as readers and expand their knowledge overall. I look forward to being able to put these new titles into the hands of these middle school students as soon as possible! Thank you for your support!
