I run a gamified classroom in which students are invited to immerse themselves in my Star Wars theme, but also engage with history through games and playful learning. Playful learning is at the core of gamification and I always strive to make learning unforgettable. Therefore, having students not only be a part of classroom decoration, but also giving them the opportunity to build an accurate model of ancient Roman architecture is a unique opportunity. With your help, students can take ownership of their classroom design by helping decorate it with a truly remarkable model. Additionally, due to its faithful recreation, the model can be used for illustrating the unique design the Romans created in the first century CE.
The students I teach are an incredibly diverse group.
While it is connected to our German immersion elementary school, the school draws students from the surrounding area due to our rigorous and holistic approach to education. As such, we encounter students who commute for 30 minutes, take a bus from a more affluent area of town, or walk a few blocks from their houses in the school’s neighborhood. This provides our school with an incredibly diverse student body.
