I am excited to be moving from fifth grade to sixth grade with my students this year. They are an amazing group of students that I have been lucky enough to teach in second, fifth, and now sixth grade. My school serves students from kindergarten through eighth grade. We are a Title I school and all our students are eligible to receive free lunches.
My students are hardworking and eager to learn.
Unfortunately, these amazing students don't always have access to some basic supplies that students take for granted! Many students don't come to school with a pencil, let alone the one binder needed for all 3 of my classes.
I'd love to give my students whiteboards and privacy screens. Whiteboards make learning fun and privacy screens help students focus on their work.
Students love writing on a whiteboard and having their own would make learning more fun!
I don't have enough space for all students to go to the board at the same time, but mini whiteboards allow students to all participate, even from their seats.
Our school got a grant last year for new desks and we received desks that were meant to be put into tables to encourage collaborative learning. Due to this new arrangement, privacy screens would be helpful, especially during certain assignments so students could focus and not be as distracted by others at their table.
