This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
All students are able learn. This school year there are approximately 25 students in my first grade class. Our school is a great learning environment where students prosper. Our academic community is continuously growing as we become a Pre-K thru 8th grade school which focuses on achieving higher expectations.
In today's society, students are coming to school less prepared with supplies.
In my experience, when students have the necessary tools, as well as the opportunity to experience a wide range of literature and manipulatives to assist in completing assignments, as well as flexible seating, they tend to have greater achievement.
My Project
These materials will assist in student learning in a variety of ways! The set of stools will be used as a meeting place for our small group lessons, as well as our one-on-one student conferences! Also, it will be an area where students can work on centers. These centers will consist of iPads with reading and math applications, as well as the Boggle Jr, Scrabble Jr, and Bananarama. These will help students solidify their phonemic awareness and spelling skills.
A variety of seating within the classroom will give students a slight change in the learning environment which in my eyes will refresh them and get them ready to learn!
These materials will be a huge benefit for the students. They will give a variety of seating in our classroom. Some students learn better when they are not required to sit in a traditional chair. These chair balls and stools will assist with this academic achievement!
