My students need interactive journals and math and reading Bingo Libraries to use in the classroom as an extension to their daily reading and math lessons.
My students are a very diverse group of children with one thing in common. They all attend an urban, public Montessori school. Eighty-one percent of the students qualify for free lunch and 88% of the students are a racial minority.
We follow the teachings of Maria Montessori to meet the needs of the whole child physically, emotionally, cognitively, and spiritually through following and allowing the child to guide his or her learning.
Their curiosity and love of learning keep us striving to find new ways to engage them. Our school serves children from preschool through eighth grade.
My Project
The interactive notebooks and Bingo games will make learning fun for my 2nd and 3rd graders this year! Third grade is a huge year of testing, and I want to make sure I am covering all skills and allowing my students the opportunity to practice using these skills in a fun way!
Learning should always be fun, and I want my students to remember this!
The interactive notebooks will be used during Reading Group time. The Bingo games will be used for intervention groups and can also be played during indoor recess in the winter! These hands-on materials fit perfectly in our Montessori classroom and with our philosophy.
