My students need wobble seats to help them be the best learners they can be. We utilize many homemade games and activities that are the most durable when printed on card stock and laminated.
I teach an amazing group of first grade students in a rural farm community in southeast Iowa. My students are hard workers who absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions.
First grade is a crucial time for learning expectations.
We focus on becoming fluent readers and expanding our math skills along with growing socially.
Each child in my classroom loves learning, although the way they learn best varies greatly. Incorporating a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, is imperative.
My Project
The supplies of card stock, sharpies and lamination will allow me to make fun, hands on activities such as math and reading learning games and science models just to name a few. All of the learning activities are designed with the skill level of various students in mind. I will able to make multiple engaging activities that students will be able to utilize for years to come.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of fun activities to work on that expand their knowledge of what has been taught.
The wobble seats will be beneficial for my students that have difficulty focusing on what is being taught.
