I work at a school where 61% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. The students come to me with a broad spectrum of needs that require different levels of support within the classroom. I strive to give my students a classroom learning environment in which they all feel welcome, supported, and they learn through investigation, exploration, and building their curiosity through a science-based curriculum every day. Their success is assured through their dedication, perseverance, and above all their smiles, and through the numerous unit-learning projects we have completed.
This coming school year is a new adventure not only for my students but for myself as well.
I had the honor to teach this amazing group of diverse learners for their prekindergarten year, and now the students and I will be all be moving onto kindergarten together. I desire to keep enriching and fulling their individual needs, and inspiring each student to become the very best they can.
My Project
We are all living in unprecedented times, and it is even harder for kids. There little lives have been turned upside down, and they do not quite grasp what is going on. I have been with this group of kindergarten students for two years now, and it breaks my heart to not get to see them everyday. To see their faces light up as they walk into the classroom to not only see me, see their friends, but also to have a safe place to be and learn. This normalcy is gone for the kids, and I desire to bring some of our fun and engaging learning activities into the students' homes.
Through the use of BOOM cards and other exciting activities, students will be able to experience a small piece of our classroom in their learning from home.
Through movement games like Silent e Fluency & Fitness® Brain Breaks and Read it Up activities I would be able to bring some of our favorite daily activities back to the students again while getting to introduce some new fun and exciting activities using Boom Cards Kindergarten Distance Learning | Digital Task Cards GROWING BUNDLE.
