Making Learning Electric!

My students need hands-on science tools to enhance their learning in our future studies of magnetism and circuit-building.

My Students

My third grade students come from a small, rural area in upstate South Carolina and love learning! I want these eager learners to have every advantage possible by providing them with materials for science and experimentation. Magnetic tiles and makey-makey kits will help my future engineers as we begin our next units in science. Providing kits like these will help my students engage in hands-on learning and will foster problem-solving skills.

Our small community works very hard to collect resources which will help them become great learners, servants, and leaders.

Thank you in advance for helping my students grow in their love of science and learning!

My Project

Our state sets forth learning standards for our students in every subject area. In third grade, it is essential for students to develop and use models demonstrating that electric currents flowing through a complete circuit (a closed path through which electricity flows) can be used to accomplish a task, such as lighting a bulb or making a sound. Also, students must develop and use models demonstrating that a magnet is an object that produces a magnetic field.

Makey-makey kits and magnetic tiles will create a fun, engaging environment which will help my students build models to demonstrate an understanding of electricity and magnetism!
