Making Learning Comfortable

My students need flexible seating in order to concentrate. My students have different learning styles. The two Balance Ball chairs and floor cushions will be helpful for those who need to fidget a little in order to learn.

My Students

I teach at a Title 1 school in St. Petersburg, Florida, where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. My 18 WONDERFULLY ENTHUSIASTIC students would truly benefit from alternative seating for the classroom!

I am often envious of the energy that they have to burn- but the drawback is that the current learning environment is not conducive to the rigorous learning these little ones are expected to do on a daily basis.

They need the opportunity to wiggle and move if necessary, or have a soft place to sit in order to concentrate. Each child has their own, unique learning style- I desperately want to help them tap into it!

My Project

My students are expected to be able to focus in order to learn the rigorous curriculum being taught these days. They all have different learning styles and the uncomfortable school-supplied chairs can make learning a difficult task. Many of the chairs in my classroom are extremely old and even have cracks in them!

I have picked out comfortable floor cushions so that my students can focus on the task at hand instead of the hard floor beneath them.

The stability ball chairs will be perfect for my students who need to "fidget" a little in order to focus on their classwork.
