My Students

Our school is a large school in North Tampa. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and speak many languages. They are voracious readers and active thinkers, jumping into any subject feet first. They get excited about learning and love to share their ideas with others. Any opportunity that I can get to share new ideas and experiences with them is welcome. What makes it even better is their enthusiasm for learning every day. They are a special and talented bunch.

My Project

My fourth-graders try their best to focus each day but sometimes, it's hard! I have noticed that some of my students have been able to focus better when using a yoga ball for a chair. They also seem to be able to focus on their reading while sitting in a comfortable place. I would like to make this type of seating available to all of my students.

Being able to move around as you work has a positive effect on student learning.

My students love being able to choose their seating type during the day, and these new seating options will help make that possible.
