Making Learning Come Alive In All Subject Areas! (Title 1)
My students need these items from Oriental Trading, to increase their understanding in all major subject areas: Math, Reading, Social Studies, and Science.
Go Bobcats! My students are full of school pride! Everyday we start our day by saying the "Bobcat Pledge", as well as the Pledge of Allegiance. Because of the school being Title 1, our funds are often limited. My students are a great group of kids! They truly want to learns as much as possible.
I teach at a Title 1 School in NC.
We are near the well known Military Base, Ft. Bragg. It's a very diverse group of learners, but one thing remains the same - they all want to learn. My students might not always come from the most privileged backgrounds, but the great equalizer is their desire to learn as much as possible.
My Project
I have created a project with supplies from Oriental Trading Company. I love the wide selection of products, as well as the prices. The project is equipped with an assortment of items that can help my students succeed in Math, Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies. For example, in Math, I am in need of Money Manipulatives, Place Value charts and journals, as well as Math magnets.
In Reading and Writing, I am requesting such items as various journals to help in Reading and Science, as well as Reading Strategy posters, to help them remember many different strategies to be effective readers. In Social Studies,
I am asking for help in buying a set of readers about Famous African Americans. I can use those to tie into Reading and Writing as well. The bulk of the Science requests are for help in teaching about Life Cycles. I am asking for helping in buying Life Cycle posters, journals, and models of the various life cycles.
I am asking for a multitude of items, that can overall help my students in all the major subject areas.
