Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine walking into a school where learning leaps off the walls, bright, colorful posters showcase student work, classroom expectations, inspirational quotes, reading strategies, math problem-solving steps, science vocabulary, and school-wide events. Now imagine those visuals being created right on campus by staff and students, personalized for our community. That’s the vision we can bring to life with a poster-making machine for our elementary school.

For some, hearing a concept explained once is enough, but for many, seeing it visually displayed makes it “stick.” A poster-making machine allows us to create custom, large-format visuals that grab attention and reinforce learning in every subject area.

Whether it’s a step-by-step math guide, a life cycle diagram, a reading anchor chart, or a motivational quote, students benefit from consistent, colorful, and accessible reminders posted right where they learn and play.

This machine will also be used for student-created projects. Imagine a fifth grader designing an anti-bullying campaign, a third-grade class creating a giant story map for their favorite book, or a second grader’s artwork being enlarged to decorate the hallway. Students will have the opportunity to see their work displayed proudly, boosting confidence, creativity, and school pride.

Beyond academics, the poster maker will help build school-wide culture. We can create banners for assemblies, PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) celebrations, student leadership events, and family nights. These visuals help students feel connected to their school and reinforce positive behavior expectations.

Currently, creating large posters for our school involves either piecing together smaller pages (which look unprofessional and take hours) or paying for outside printing (which is costly and slow). Having our own poster-making machine will save time, money, and resources—allowing teachers to bring ideas to life instantly.
