My students love being active in their learning, we currently use SmartBoard and SmartResponse technologies everyday and they love it. Now I would like to get them more kinesthetically involved.
My students are 4th grade kids in an inclusive classroom in a public school.
Our district is a K-8 school district with a long standing history in the community. My students love using technology and become much more actively engaged in their learning when technology is incorporated into all my lessons. My students are bright kids who do their best and want to learn!
My Project
My students will use the clipboards when we take our learning outside. I would like to take the students to the yard and do some math or ELA outside. Our school is also getting a covered patio with park tables and I would love to utilize those as well but the kids would need a hard surface to write on. The exercise balls are for those kids who have a hard time in a chair and need a change. Finally the rocks and minerals are for our Science Unit so that the students can be actively engaged in learning (and feeling) about the different types of rocks and minerals.
Donating towards this project will give me the opportunity to get my kids outside (more often, since it will be easier to work on the clipboards), help them sit and pay attention (with the use of the exercise balls), and get their hands on the rocks and minerals they are learning about.
