I teach an absolutely amazing group of second graders. I usually have between twenty-two to twenty-eight students in my second grade class. They come into second grade excited to learn. As an educator, it is so important for us to keep that spark alive!
Our school has a high population of military families as our school is located down the road from a military base.
Many of the students have had to balance school and home life while having a parent deployed. My students have a pure passion for learning that inspires me to be a better teacher!
My Project
I am seeking a laminator and lamination sheets for our classroom. I strongly believe that students learn best by playing and being engaged. I love incorporating and creating colorful activities and games in learning centers. We do centers daily and it is hard to manage the materials when they are not durable. When the boards and pieces are laminated it makes them truly last for years and something that can be used over and over again. We no longer would have to worry about students accidentally crumpling or tearing a thin paper while at their centers. If the centers hold up, we would be able to reuse them and offer students more choices, which is something they will love!
I feel it is truly an essential supply for any primary classroom due to the amount of center and games we do.
We could use the laminator everyday! I want the children to enjoy learning and feel successful. With the ability to create reusable colorful hands-on activities, it will allow the children to have that feeling!
Some of our favorite colorful activities that could be created using the laminator and lamination sheets are Race to 100, Place Value War, What’s that sound?, Can you hear me now? And Tell me all about it! Plus SO many more! I am hopeful we can get this laminator so we can take our centers to the next level!
