Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I low income school. All of the children at our school receive free lunch because of their low economic status.

The goal of getting a project funded is to help our students' voices be heard and be confident in their academic abilities.

The students deserve an opportunity to explore their creative talents and not be held back because of their economic status.

Our students have diverse backgrounds, but this is a way for them to all have something in common. Being given an opportunity they may not normally get can allow a child to find a purpose and something they are good at including art.

My Project

My students will use the Classroom Laminating Machine and pouches to create a product development and marketing project. They will use the paper, colored pencils, and markers to make models of product ideas. Laminating will keep them preserved. Students will work in groups to take a product idea from scratch to marketing. They will develop a product they feel will be useful to others, create a prototype, sketch a packaging example, and finally market their product to the student body. During this project, they will need to work cooperatively together, make decisions together, use their critical thinking skills to determine the best path, and create art projects to represent their products. They will conduct student surveys to determine the validity of their product and present their findings to their peers. Finally, they will produce a marketing campaign consisting of videotaped commercials, ads for social media, and ads for print. Students will then sell their products to the school community using classroom currency.

This is an excellent project that incorporates all of the curriculum areas in a fun and exciting project.

Students will use these art materials; paper, colored pencils, and a laminating machine to create a model and packaging of a product their group intends to market. These models are the center of this lesson, as students will use them to market their products to the school community. These basic supplies will allow art to be part of our learning and help my students to bring their ideas to life.
