The students at my school are smart, kind, fun, and unique! They love coming to school, and they realize that learning can be FUN.
In their early academic years, they are exploring the world around them and learning how people think, feel, and act.
They begin to realize that people have different thoughts, feelings, and needs. In can be difficult to navigate through big feelings at a young age, but building social competencies now will benefit their social and academic performance later. Help me teach our young learners to "train their dragon" through this cute and relatable book series.
My Project
My Dragon Books series provides valuable lessons about important life skills including anger management, making good choices, and accepting the consequences of our actions. My students can use these books individually, in small groups, and classwide. They will follow the adventures of Drew and his dragon Diggory Doo to learn how to teach their "dragons" important lessons in life.
Making friends, accepting no, and being kind to others are just some of the lessons my students and their "dragons" will learn.
The lessons learned from these books can quickly and easily be applied in everyday situations. At our school, we believe that social/emotional skills are just as important as academic skills. This project will help our students be more emotionally ready to learn from our awesome teachers.
