Making Flowers Grow as Student-Citizens Grow

Help me give my students the ability to measure ratios including utilizing fractions in a real-world setting helps students connect to our school beautification projects.

My Project

Our students are the greatest because they challenge our instruction in so many ways. Challenging our student-citizens to connect fractions to a real-world setting means connecting mathematical concepts to something kinesthetic learners can really get involved in. Our goal is to lead the way with our lowest-performing students to help build character and mathematical fluency through a real-world exercise.

Beautifying our Title 1 school campus allows students to connect to horticulture, landscaping, and installation to with mathematical fluency and learning.

Students will grow seedlings, measure their growth, and then create a landscape supporting campus improvements.
