My Students

Do you learn better hands-on? Students need instruments to help them learn music. There is a need at my school for Orff Instruments. They need instruments to improvise, compose and create music in a variety of settings.

I teach music to over 1150 students in grades K-5 in a suburban school in Virginia.

The students love music and especially creating, making, and performing their own music. We love to play instruments in music class and really enjoy hands on learning.

My Project

I am requesting one glockenspiel. This glockenspiel will help students have more hands on time with the instruments. The students will get to accompany singing and music activities by having a student play the choral accompaniment. Students will learn to create their own music by creating rhythmic and melodic patterns. By adding more instruments to my collection it allow more students time on an instrument.

This project will allow students to get the opportunity to learn how to read, improvise and perform music in a hands-on environment.

We are a very large school with only one music teacher. Students get to come to music only once every eight school days. Each instrument that I receive means that less students have to share or take turns! Let's make every minute count!!!!
