Hello everyone! My students come from a Title I school (which means that at least 50% of students are on free or reduced price lunch) and most of them live in apartments with multiple family members or are in an alternative living situation.
Despite these hardships, my students come in ready to learn and happy to be at school.
Their willingness to learn and be a part of a classroom community is amazing and I feel so proud to be their teacher.
Imagine walking into a Starbucks cafe with books lining the wall, cups full of warm tea and book menus waiting on desks. Creating immersive worlds for my students is part of what I invision when I plan my lessons every day. My students like to have colorful, engaging walls and activities. During various math, reading, social studies, and science lessons I often try to bring in engaging pieces and parts that help facilitate an interactive learning environment.
Many of my students are learning English as a second language and providing visuals and engaging activities are an absolute necessity to keep them interested, focused and learning.
The Cricut will allow me to create engaging lessons and environments that my students can appreciate and really be a part of. I want to create colorful vocabulary, immersive escape rooms, and fun review lessons that the students can really have fun with.
