I have had the privilege of being a teacher for over 20 years. I have seen many things in education, but one thing remains the same, the kids. I have been fortunate to work with the most kind-hearted, creative, curious, and hard working students over the past 20 years. My students include military families, English-language learners, special needs and students desperate and curious to learn. Because McConnell Air Force Base is so close to my school, I have many students who have attended many schools throughout their educational career. I believe that all of my students deserve their educational experiences to be the very best, whether they are with me for one month or for the whole school year.
Thank you for partnering with me to make dreams come true for my students and to make a difference in the lives of their future.
My students deserve the very best, and they are eager to learn, be creative, connect to the real-world, and make the world a better place.
I am requesting funding for the opportunity to experience the professional development of a lifetime. Through the "Experience the Wonder and Magic of Learning" teacher field trip, I will explore Disney's "Be Our Guest"philosophy and how I can integrate that to my own philosophy, explore cultural connections to use with students and curriculum, and investigate theming and how I can use these concepts to attract students to my classroom.
Like Disney World, my goal as a teacher is to make my classroom a place where students don't want to leave.
I believe that by attending this professional development, I will be able to come up with an action plan to reimagine my classroom.
