This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are special education students, in a co-taught setting. My students are special because they are expected to learn the state curriculum that their classmates are learning but also have to face the challenge of one or more of have specific learning or behavioral disabilities. Some of my students need extra reading, math, or behavioral supports. While taking a single academic or emotional step may not be a big deal, with my students we celebrate every victory no matter how small. My students excite me with their joy and happiness, when they realize they that are over-comers, that their dreams and desires can come true, and I am teaching them that a “ disability” only makes you fight harder and dream bigger. Nothing can stop my kids!
My Project
The printer will allow me to print materials to support the students. It will also allow me to print notes and add color to those who need visual aids to be successful. It will also allow me to communicate with parents by send information and additional materials so they can support their student and help with the needs at home. The other tools will aid in allowing students to hear themselves read so they can self-correct and build confidence in their abilities to read aloud in front of others. The clipboards will allow me to give my students the Optimal testing environment and not be bound by the walls of a classroom. We are in this together, parents, teachers, and students. We can progress and grow with your help.
