Help me give my students a new dramatic play area because the furniture we have in our classroom is old, falling apart, and outdated. We want our students to experience using materials they see in the real world.
I work in a pre-kindergarten classroom in a low socio-economic neighborhood.
Our students get free lunch and do not always have access to the resources they need to build a strong academic foundation.
DonorsChoose.org provides a great opportunity to supply my classroom with these resources!
My Project
When students are in dramatic play it allows them the be free and open up their minds and use their imagination to be what they want to be. It allows them to engage in conversation with one another and to role-play moms, dads, teachers, and other community workers.
Students can cook on the stove, oven, or microwave.
After they are finished, they can load the dirty dishes into the dishwasher. After the dishes are clean, they can be put away in the storage space. This teaches the students organizational skills.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
