Help me give my students access to online distant learning with teacher created recorded PowerPoints created on this laptop for them to access via the internet.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Many students in my classroom come in ready to work, but lack so many of the necessary skills as well as basic needs of everyday survival.
Our school is nestled in the heart of North Memphis, a high poverty community, which is often at the forefront of our local news because of ongoing crimes in the neighborhood.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each day.
My Project
This laptop will allow me to create a PowerPoint and record live lessons so that the students feel a since if connection with their teacher while outside the classroom. Many students and parents are overwhelmed during this current pandemic and desire a need for connectivity. If I’m able to record a live PowerPoint it will give the students an opportunity to feel they are not abandoned in this process of distant learning and give parents the chance to see that they are not along I. This teaching process. Many parents are stressing frustration with teaching and this is a way to bring the learning to the students and when when they get confused they can rewind the PowerPoint and allow Ms Askew to clear up confusion or they will be able to email me with specific questions about anything that I teach during the presentation. Please help me be able to go into as many of my students homes as possible during this pandemic.
