Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Recently we have just transitioned to full online learning. The students were able to borrow a laptop from the district and we have been using Google Classroom. Due to working in a Title I school, many of the kids did not have access to technology prior to renting a school laptop.
We went home on a Thursday and school was cancelled indefinitely on Thursday night so the kids were not able to take home any supplies for them to use.
All of the uncertainty that is going on in the world right now is scary. That is why I am trying hard to get supplies in my students hands not only to help with their education but also to bring them some comfort.
My Project
Distance learning is new and challenging for both teachers and students. They were not given much time to be able to get items together, or taught how to create materials or how to be effective teachers during all of this.
Everyone, students included, are doing the best the can, but I would like to be able to provide students with some more digital resources to help make the end of the school year even better for them.
