I teach 11-14-year-old students with a variety of intellectual, artistic abilities, and their own point of view in their artwork. My students are focusing their time in school on preparing concepts and techniques that they can build upon to become more successful. This outlook would be demonstrated by showing how much the visual arts impacts a variety of careers. I work with each student individually to help them communicate what their personal goals and visions are for their artwork.
All of my students create a project that is inspired by something they love or a statement they would like to make.
We also practice with a variety of materials to have students better understand the mediums. This allows them to discover what they succeed at and how they can combine these mediums to create a new image.
Most of my students are looking forward to finding their voice and learning the history and techniques of art.
My Project
These materials help students understand the process of ceramics and the chemical reactions that occur when heating the kiln at high temperatures. Also, this allows for cross curriculum between the visual arts and science. I chose two different set of glazes to provide students the opportunity to chose between colors to help enhance their projects. With more colors, we can also discuss the layering of colors and how those change and react with each other. This allows for even more colors then the ones I am asking for. This would really benefit my students, thank you so much for your donation.
