The students I teach are hard working 3rd, 4th and 5th graders in a low income, rural, western Kansas Title I school with high free and/or reduced-priced breakfast and lunch rates.
My students are dedicated, driven and determined to succeed no matter what obstacles they may face.
I continually strive to provide up-to-date technology and hands-on experiences with that technology in order to ensure that each child reaches their full learning potential in the best possible working environment inside my classroom.
My Project
My class hasn't had much exposure to understanding how the economy works, but I know that with the support of the games I am requesting, they will develop a strong sense of financial literacy. I truly believe that there is no better way to get kids to understand a topic than to dive in and use their hands (and brains) to play fun games!
The board games in this project will allow my students to gain overall financial knowledge, while learning about things such as assets, debt and how to make wise financial choices.
I truly believe in building financial literacy in all of my students to ensure they are equipped with the tools they need to be productive members of society after they leave my classroom.
