Mrs. Smith from Brockton MA is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students the opportunity to learn by creating hands-on learning activities for centers. The laminating pouches,, write/erase boards, erasers and reusable pouches will allow me to create durable games.

I work in an urban district that qualifies for both free breakfast and free lunch programs. The school we work in has a large percentage of children who speak English as a second language. We have children that are from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Cape Verde and Haiti. The children, on top of speaking English as a second language, also have a variety of disabilities that affect their learning. Students often are diagnosed with Autism, Developmental Delays, Communication Disorders, and Medical Issues.
These wonderful children come to my specialized class in order to work on individual goals that are created on their Individual Education Plans.
They often travel across the city in order to attend this specialized classroom. The children often have limited opportunity to practice skills at home due to materials that are needed.
My students need to practice skills multiple times for mastery. Therefore using paper for every practice is not environmentally friendly. We laminate center activities for durability. We also use wipe/erase boards and erasers to practice skills, as well as placing practice items in pouches and using dry erase markers to practice skills over and over.
My students require repetition and specialized instruction for mastery of all new topics.
The use of a multisensory and repetitive approach is necessary for their learning especially in learning to form letters correctly, comprehension activities, language activities and reading fluency. My students come from a district that has no budget for these supplies.
