Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My 29 first graders have been working very hard this year and they love to write stories! With the materials from this grant, my students would be able to write, illustrate, type and bind their own books. Just think of all of the learning opportunities that this project would provide! We make a class book each month and the students love to make their own books as well. The book binding machine would also assist students in other grades as they create their own books as well. At the end of each school year my class makes a book called "The Important Book of First Grade". In the past I have taken the books to a store to have them bound. It would be great if this year the students could bind the books themselves. Please help my first graders to become blooming authors as they create their own books.
