This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are great; they are hardworking and fun. Just like most high school students, they sometimes struggle with the organization which is why we use interactive notebooks. My students are from many different countries and speak many different languages, but they all need to learn biology and they want to have some fun while doing it!
The majority of my students receive free or reduced lunch and are minority students.
My students work so hard to earn a great education!
My Project
My student population is very diverse, but one thing that almost all have in common is that they struggle to keep organized. My students need notebooks and paper. I love to use interactive notebooks in my class because it helps them become better with organization and helps them to take pride in their work.
Everyday when they pull out their notebook they have a visual representation of all the things they have explored and learned throughout the year.
My students tell me that they appreciate how easy it is to find the information they need to study compared to other classes where they receive many papers, but do not organize them. The glue sticks are used to place all of the students work into their composition notebook so they can come back to it later to study.
