The students of Fulton schools are an amazing group of kids. They are hard working and dedicated. I have seen them be capable of making incredible growth in short periods of time. There is a lot of potential for these groups to be outstanding performers. I'm trying to provide these student with the basic supplies to keep them focused on their musical growth and not have them worried about how they are going to pay for supplies. I want to give every student the chance at a music education if they choose to.
I am trying to create an environment where every student has the option of music education regardless of financial status. Getting and replacing reeds can be a expensive for beginning band students. I want students to be able to enjoy music without the cost of reeds or basic supplies to scare them away. Providing reeds to these mostly beginning band students will help take a burden off of them. In our district, some students need a little assistance to participate. I never want to turn a student away from band because they couldn't afford the supplies. Music can have a profound impact on a students life, and I want to make that something they all have a chance at.
