"Teamwork makes the dream work." This is our motto in the library! My students are enthusiastic investigators that are excited to create new projects that highlight their learning. They love to collaborate and develop their ideas together to create something they couldn't do on their own. We use digital tools to amplify and take ownership of learning.
We have a passion for learning; we take risks and learn through our mistakes.
We encourage everyone to take part, share their ideas and be proud of their accomplishments. We take pride in the process of our learning and not just the final product.
My Project
During Music Class students will be able to record musical melodies on different instruments and upload as digital files to their computer.
During Library, students will then create a project using our block coding program called, Hatch (Scratch with support).
Students will upload their music and create a program so that when they hit a certain keys, their sounds are played. Students will create an authentic "stage" that acts as a circuit board and sends signals through the conductive materials. Students will use everyday objects to create a circuit.
Makey-Makey. Students will connect the Makey-Makey from their computer to their everyday objects to create the actual circuit.
The objects will replace the keyboard and anyone can manipulate sound through the objects.
This project based unit is considered a STEAM Activity: blending Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics in one project.
