Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a second-grade teacher in NJ. My school provides a wonderful, nurturing environment that believes all children have the right to an equal education no matter what socioeconomic class they come from. My students love learning and enjoy being in school. All of my students possess individual talents that make them unique and special. As their teacher, I feel it’s my job to guide them as readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and risk-takers.
I want my students to know that they can achieve anything as long as they follow their dreams and believe in themselves as much as I do.
I try my best to provide them with the tools they need in order to succeed. I do what I can, but due to limited funding and budget cuts, many of the supplies my students need are not readily available.
My Project

By donating to this project, my scholars will develop their financial literacy and also learn how to invent, collaborate, and think creatively- all essential skills for life in this new technological era.
My students will be able to connect the Makey-Makey boards to their Chromebooks and to real coins. They will then be able to identify and count collections of coins in a more interactive and engaging way. These kits will also allow my students to create their own interactive coin counting and shopping math games via Scratch programming.
