My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are an inspiration!

My students are ready to be challenged with creating projects that take their technical skills and thinking to the next level!

Our school is in the heart of Central Texas where we have a thriving tech culture but our classrooms don't have access to all of the tools needed to apply the concepts that they are interested in studying.

Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!

My Project

These tools will continue to enhance the tech-rich classroom and school that I strive to create. These Makey Makey invention kits and the resource materials will open up a world of possibilities to my classroom and for our school as they will also be used to launch a coding/robotics club. In our classroom and in coding club, we will use the Makey Makeys to bring our Scratch coding to life. Whether we turn bananas into keyboards or create pictures with circuits to retell stories in class, the possibilities are only limited by the students imaginations. The Scratch, Scratch Jr. and Turtle Art coding cards will allow the students to explore projects at their on pace and advance at the rate of their abilities.

With these creative tools and resources, my students will be able to choose from a variety of projects that will allow them to explore coding and grow their skills on their own level whether they are in Kindergarten or 5th grade!

They will also be able to choose activities that interest them whether it is building games online, art projects, creating creative controllers or designing ways to use tech to tell stories. The copper tape and Klever Kutter will allow them to turn cardboard and paper into robotics creations! My students already have shown an astonishing interest in coding and STEM activities, and this project will only help enrich their experiences and grow programs for the entire school.
