My students need architecture kits, a Makey Makey invention kit, and extra alligator clip leads so they can create unusual controllers and build amazing structures.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We love to build, so let's makey makey some stuff!
My fifth graders live in a working class and immigrant neighborhood.
Some of them are learning English as a second language, some have special needs, some are gifted, and all of them love to learn. Our Title I school is an important safe haven for my kids who are surrounded by poverty and gang activity. We are empowering students through art when we connect the arts to all curricular areas, including the humanities, history, literature, and science.
My Project
When kids are building things, their brains are working overdrive. I would like to give my students some building kits that will give them the opportunity to flex their brains.
The Makey Makey kit with clips can be used to create computer controllers out of any object imaginable. You can connect the Makey Makey device to a banana, a hat, or a piece of clay, and then use that object to control a computer. It's amazing! The architecture "Matchitecture" kits will give my students a chance to create buildings in three dimensions.
We are asking for a Makey Makey kit, clips, and several Matchitecture kits like the Eiffel Tower, the White House, and the Statue of LIberty.
With your generous donation, my students will be able to engineer great pieces of architecture and technology.
The creative possibilities are endless, and they won't even know they're learning. My students and I thank you!
