This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We want to make the best use of our new laser engraver for our upcoming MakerSpace! As we begin to form ideas for what we can (and will) create, we want to make sure that we can be as flexible as possible while maintaining safety.

By adding a rotary tool and an enclosure we can use the engraver on cylindrical objects while also venting any dust or fumes out of the MakerSpace!

Our students can bring in their own materials of various shapes, sizes, and configurations for etching and engraving patterns of their own design! At the same time, we can maintain low levels of airborne materials from the projects.
