Music, Art, Drama, STEAM, Accelerated Reading, and Coding are just some of the regular activities students at our school participate in on a weekly basis. Our school is comprised of children in the nearby neighborhood and from neighborhoods across the community. Parents across the community enroll students in our school because of the school's reputation of providing innovative learning opportunities for students. Because teachers at our school are passionate about incorporating high and low technology and best learning practices, students are motivated to reach goals and learning expectations with enthusiasm.
My Project
Planning, collaborating, making, revising, and showcasing with Lego brick building challenges will inspire our students to think outside the box! Students already love to build with standard bricks, and the abundance of choices will provide them with plenty of options. Not only that, but the tires, wheels and axles will help students level up their creations to include friction and gravity concepts. Finally, the Lego people will help students make a personal connections to their creations through role playing!
Students across all grade levels will explore and collaborate with brick building tools to complete Lego Challenges in our mobile Maker Lab!
The challenges will spur scientific and mathematic thought processes and artistic creativity with activities such Lego Marble Runs, Monster Creations, and Stop Motion Animation Green Screen productions.
Students will have the opportunity showcase their creations with their school peers and parents in Google Classroom and for our community at our annual district STEAM Fair!
