The individuals that will be impacted by this project are a mixture of general education and special education students. We are a very diverse community with the majority of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunches. The diversity in our community truly creates a positive learning environment.
In our classroom, students begin their journey to becoming lifelong readers.
They come into this classroom as struggling readers. When they leave, they have the necessary tools to comprehend and understand what they read. Many of my students are bilingual and face economic challenges.
My Project
I am part of the innovation team in our school. As a member, we focus on bringing technology into our classrooms to use in creative ways. Next school year, we are hoping to launch our Makerspace programs into our classrooms and extra curricular activities. Bloxels and iPads are the tools my students will use to create their own video games.
21st century technology is an important tool for success.
Bloxels is a free APP that can be used with iPads or a smartphone. The additional Bloxel boards included in this project will help to bring ideas to life. The iPad cases will help to protect our equipment.
