Our students are located in a part of the school district where there is more than 60% free and reduced lunch. There learning opportunities are significantly impaired do their economic standing. As such, our school really tries to enhance their experiences so they can build on their prior knowledge. In our school we have a resource room with a Special Education population that have adjusted learning objectives and many of those students benefit from a diverse practice of teaching and learning where we use a variety of modalities including hands on instructional opportunities. We service kids in our area in grades K-5. My room is the nucleus of the building where I both have constant classes but itś a welcoming environment where students frequently come work.
We are creating a MakerSpace on a shoestring budget. I have funded it as much as I can personally, but I need help! I need tables and chairs and have found an economical and functional way to meet this need.
I want to incorporate ẅhole body learning, creation and innovation, STEM and higher order thinking opportunities to my library.
We have broken furniture with chairs that are sinking. I need help furnishing this space so kids can build things related our curriculum such as building electricity models for our energy and electricity unit in grade 4. In grade 5 students are learning about space and we are building an interactive solar system. In grade 3 we are learning about the human body and simulating different parts of the body. In grade 2 we are learning about matter and doing experiments in that area learning about solids, liquids, and gases. In grades K and 1 students find this area relaxing as I have them in the afternoon and building and interactive play is very calming.
I would like Loon Peak Throop Portable Picnic Tables; something that's portable that can be easily moved and cleaned. I need seating bad! Students currently have to move their chairs to this location and our 40 + year old chairs that are being moved are sunk in and screws are coming out. Students will use them daily nearly the entire day to do many of the task and more listed above.
